This is the third layout I made for Jessica haha. JessicaHalabi.com. I really like it. Nice and simple, it was really quick to script too. The other versions were all not the best, and she kept needing things changed, so I made this one. Hopefully she’s happy with it.

These two days were nice, just chilling time at home with my sistaa. Tonight I’m going over to my friends place for some potluck and German bubbly. sweeet.

The first snow happened yesterday, in addition to the insane wind storm we had. I’m excited for the snow but not the blistering cold that comes with it. Edmonton winters are lamee. I skipped out on most of the winter last season cause i was in Vietnam, I’m sad I have to go through this whole winter this year. I remember the day before leaving to ‘nam there was one of the craziest snow storms ever and I was on the opposite side of the city trying to get ahold of a cab. Not fun! Trotting through snow up to my waist and walking through roads with cars cause the sidewalks were all covered wasn’t fun. And ohhh the hiking across snow covered fields… I’m shivering just thinking about it =( i definitely got a shock to my system from being in that weather to 40 degree weather the next day haha. No happy medium.

I gotta get going on transferring this blog to my personal domain and changing up the layout. I’m too laazy but i’m sick of this layout. I think I’ll make a layout base then script it later.

Halloween is in 5 days! I’m sooo excited. My costume is still unfinished but I’ll work on it the next few days to make sure it’s done. If I don’t get it done on time I have lots of backups haha.

So I went to a business seminar at the BusinessLink today. I needed to freshen my small business knowledge and get some good hints cause it’s my main focus by the new year. I think I’ll go to more of these seminars, they are kinda inspirational and a good way to network.

This was the first time I was put in a class situation since fashion school so I was hoping my bad attention span for anything school related wasn’t going to interfere. Well it slightly did, it was hard to digest what the speaker was telling me haha. I noticed that everyone was drinking the free coffee so i got some on the break.

I don’t drink coffee at all so I didn’t know what to do. I put some in the cup and got a couple sugars. I always hear people getting two sugars for coffee or something haha. So I poured them in. The thing I forgot to take in consideration is how much coffee I put in the cup haha. There was barely half a cups worth and I put too much sugar in it. Mann it was sweet. So that just got me all fidgetty and wired for the last hour and a half of that class. No good! I felt like going for a run around the block after the seminar was over. What a noob!!

So I got interviewed today for the newswatch website. This is the first time getting a filmed interview done. I am a very random and silly person so it was very hard to keep my cool haha. The interviewer is a sister of a friend, and she was really sweet. I hope the interview will be good. She said she was going to edit it so it’s 45 seconds long so that should be perfect haha. I trust that it won’t show me to be that crazy. Maybe just a little. I don’t want to do filmed interviews anymore, too stressful ahaha.

Oohh exciting. I don’t have to look for a part time job anymore. I did table skirts for this lady a year ago and made sweeet cash from it, and she called me again to make more! This is the best news this month. I can finally buy myself a dress form and materials for my standard corset line wooo. This will help me with my goals for the coming year for sure. Ahhh lovely.

I’ve been getting a nice flow of orders coming in =) I hope it keeps going, I can’t wait til I get a consistent flow so I can make this an actual job hahaha.

The glitter party over the weekend was nice, got to meet some really cool people. And I scored a set of new glitter for myself =9 I got 24 colours now. And I still have a bunch on my wish list.

I just got some applique for some standard corsets I’m making, I can’t wait to work on them. They are going to be soo cute.

Life feels awesome right now ;b

Got lots done today, I’m happy about that. I’m back on track with studioing. Tomorrow I have a couple appointments, and then making another website for another friend. I can’t wait til I have enough sites done so I can actually work on my web portfolio. I doubt it will catch much attention haha, I just like stringing together things I’ve done as a collective.

I made a black on black cherry blossom brocade corset today. I’m in love! I have to make one for myself. It would make a fantastic corset to wear for my events. People are always asking if I made what I wore. It’s always a no hehe.

I’m not going to do anymore photoshoots for a while. i gotta focus on my product. It’s now down to business guyzzz.

I voted today. It was my first time. I plan to do it every election now :)

I’m pretty much in love with it. I might change the background so it’s not so darn bright, but it’s okay for now. I’m getting faster and better at coding each website I do. I’m happy about that. This website is COMPLETELY xhtml transitional, which is awesome. Sometimes I get the occasional unvalid code that I can’t get away from. But non here! wooo.

I’m working on websites for my lovely friend Candice, who is the makeup artist and photographer for some of my stuff. I’m almost done her makeup artist website, you can preview it here. Just a few things I have to change and add in her gallery. It’s nice and simple. It took me one night to do it. After that one is done I’m going to work on her photography website, which I will attempt a very different layout type I haven’t done before.

November will mark 12 months being at my studio. I can’t wait for the next 12 months. I’m going to start it by finishing up my studio like how I first intended it to look like haha. I’ll add in a few more things from ikea ;b and move in an old couch from my home. Maybe a small microwave so I don’t spend so much money on food. I’m going to move around everything too, make it more.. fung shui ? ehehe.

Man it’s been a week since I blogged. I will try to be more consistant.

what a lazy weekend haha. After my bday I just wanna sleeeeep. It was nice. Not as many people went as I thought which was sad but good at the same time. All my super loyal friends went ;b. and a few unexpected people showed up too which was great. It’s the first time my cousins came out as well, very sweet. Especially my fave cousin Thomas. He just moved back into Edmonton after years living in Vancouver so it’s a treat for him to come.

I got so many sweet pressies this year, I didn’t expect that at all haha!

Now I gotta figure out my next weeks plan *____* lots of things to do..

The cupcakes turned out okay. I’ve made better ones before though =( oh wells hehe.

So I really hate how online communities have kinda killed real-life friendships. Turned them into one sentence indirect nothings. I miss the old times. I’m at fault for this too. A goal of mine is to stop making plans through the internet and just call people up. Try to see people just randomly. I really miss being in school and seeing the same school friends everyday. It’s been two years since I had anything like that. And my two best friends ever moved away. I’m such a loner these days hehe.

I made another website layout last night, can’t believe I did it so quickly. It’s another fanlisting site. I like doing these, it really give me practice. I’m trying to make all my fl sites completely different from each other so I’ll be skilled at making various sites for friends and clients. I don’t think I showed off my first fl hehe. dp. I did the striped sunburst completely myself! I’m so proud haha. I’m trying to learn more photoshop imaging techniques. Here is my newer fl that I haven’t completely finished: mm. The content I just pasted from my deathproof one so disregard that. I have to fix it up then open it. I’m pretty proud of these sites cause they are both xhtml and css validated hahaha. I’m trying my best to keep all my sites validated. errors suck !

I have like 5 more fanlistings to make hahaha. They happened to all be approved on the same day after I was waiting for like 3 weeks for the approval. sigh.

I’m nervous as heck for my birthday. It’s so dumb. I have no idea how many people are going to my place for food. Last year people just kept coming and coming. I was running around like mad. I’ll lock myself in my room if things get too intense ahaha. Naw I’ll be fine I think. Most of the people going I know very well and know how off I get sometimes hehe. I made a dress for myself, but I don’t think I’ll even wear it. It’s so wierd and much too short. I at least need some nice boots to go with it but all of mine are wrecked, which reminded me that I need to get them fixed or get new ones by winter. booo!
